Product Summary

Providing two layers of cushioning, the Helion foam and CloudTec, On’s Cloudstratus 2.0 are designed to combine function and comfort. These running shoes feature On’s signature Speedboard, which runs along the underfoot. This technology is engineered to push the foot forward with a smooth heel-to-toe transition on every stride. Coupled with the CloudTec cushioning claimed to provide soft landings and a powerful push-off, users find this shoe’s performance to be great for both short and long distance runs.

While the cushioning technology effectively reduces the shock from impact, some found it too cushioned, which hindered pickup speed. More specifically, one reviewer stated the Helion foam compressed so much on impact that it slowed the transition from heel to ankle, not ideal for sprints or fast-paced runs.

The Cloudstratus 2.0 boasts a wider toe box than its predecessor, which accommodates those with wider feet. However, there are several reports that the midfoot and toe area are a bit too wide. There is a unique star-lacing system which allows users to pull the shoe tight should it feel wide around the midfoot, but if you have a particularly narrow foot, it still may feel too wide. The level of comfort, however, is consistently praised in reviews, especially for the comfort provided by the inner sock.
