PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS
The Eleiko Öppen Collars use an open-design with some awesome features: lever-locking system, magnets, and a rubber interior to avoid metal-on-metal contact. They are pricier than other barbell collars on the market, but have significant perks.

Product Summary
The Eleiko Öppen Collars are an open-ended barbell collar inspired from the brand’s Öppen Deadlift Bar. Unlike traditional barbell collars, these attach to a barbell from the top, rather than sliding onto the sleeve from the side. This makes for a fast, easy change as you simply put the collar on and press the lever to lock it into position.
Instead of the typical metal-on-metal you get with spring collars and traditional collars, the Öppen Collars provides a rubber-on-metal contact. The inside of the collar is all rubber, so you don’t scrape your barbell when putting them on and off.
Each collar weights 0.25 kilograms, so adding both to a barbell would add .5 kilograms in weight to your lift.
One thing we really like about these collars is that there are magnets integrated into the design, so they fit snugly to competition-style plates featuring a metal ring. Also, you can literally attach them to racks, stands, and benches while you lift.
Eleiko states that in 2021, the Öppen Collars won two awards: the RedDot and iF DESIGN AWARD.
