Greens powders are chock full of vitamins and minerals. Plus many of them have supportive ingredients like probiotics, digestive enzymes, or adaptogens that contribute to your overall health and wellness in different ways.

RELATED: Best Greens Powder

The problem is that many of them leave a lot to be desired in the taste department. But (spoiler alert) that’s not the case with Patriot Power Greens. Not only does it taste delicious, it gets high marks for quality of ingredients, solubility, and price per serving.

In this Patriot Power Greens review, we’ll share our personal experience testing this greens powder and give you the lowdown on everything else you need to know.

We’ve Sipped on a Lot of Greens Powders

Our GGR team is made up of certified personal trainers, CrossFit-L1 trainers, nutrition coaches, Olympic athletes, and other wellness experts who live and breathe health and fitness. We’re able to spot good supplements from their nutrition facts and ingredient lists, but when it comes to greens powders, taste is really important.

Because of this, our testers tried dozens of different greens powders, rating them on factors like taste, solubility, side effects, and formulation. These are our findings after drinking the Patriot Power Greens for five days straight.

A Quick Look at the Patriot Power Greens

The Patriot Power Greens are made by a company called the Patriot Health Alliance. While they may not be as well-known as some other supplement brands, they’re a reputable, U.S.-based business (they’re out of Nashville, Tennessee) that’s been around since 2007.

The company’s ethos is to support health, energy, and well-being by providing high-quality supplements. And they put their money where their mouth is. They don’t offer a crazy amount of supplements, but the ones they do have are made with impressive ingredients and almost no fillers.

The Patriot Power Greens is one of the brand’s most popular supplements. As you probably inferred from the name, it’s a super greens powder that contains a blend of fruits, vegetables, digestive enzymes, and probiotics. Almost all ingredients are organic, with a few exceptions.

Experience Using Patriot Power Greens

GGR staff writer and certified nutrition coach Amanda Capritto tested the Patriot Power Greens and has a lot of good things to say about it. Aside from its surprisingly incredible taste, she also raves about the solubility and what seems like top-notch customer service. Let’s get into it.

Price Per Serving

There are three sizes of the Patriot Power Greens, so the price per serving depends on which one you go with. The regular, 30-serving tub breaks down to $1.67 per serving, while the 60-serving tub will cost you $1.17 per serving.

There’s also a travel pack option. The container comes with 30 pre-portioned packs so you can easily take them with you to the gym or when you travel. These are the same price as the 30-serving tub—$1.67 per serving—which we were not expecting. Typically, brands charge a little more for convenience.

Patriot Power Greens Nutrition Label

However, if you buy in bulk the price drops down considerably.  There’s a buy-three-get-two-free deal for the 30-serving tub, which brings the price down to $0.99 per serving. If you buy five canisters of the 60-serving size, the price drops to $0.83 per serving.

There’s also an autoship option that saves you an additional 10%. This applies to the bulk discount, too, so you’ll get 10% off in addition to the bulk savings.

Formulation

Patriot Power Greens combine fruit and veggie powders with digestive enzymes, probiotics, prebiotics, and other “superfoods,” like organic spirulina.

There are 76 ingredients total, including 40 fruits and vegetables, 10 probiotic strains, prebiotics, and 6 digestive enzymes, as well as vitamin and mineral blends that offer B vitamins, zinc, calcium, magnesium, selenium, chromium, and antioxidants like beta carotene, a precursor to vitamin A (to name a few).

RELATED: Super Greens Powder Benefits

While the nutrition facts label does list the amount of total vitamins and minerals in the greens powder supplement, there is some missing information that prevented Amanda from giving Patriots Power Greens the full stamp of approval here.

“There isn’t any indication of the mg/g amount of each ingredient included. The nutrition facts label just shows the amount of vitamins and minerals, but not, for example, the CFU count of the probiotics (just that there are 10 strains),” she says.

Because effectiveness of probiotics is dependent on their dosage1 (among other things), having this information would be beneficial. Of course, we’re not saying that this greens powder doesn’t have an effective dose—we just don’t know for sure.

Patriot Power Greens In Bottle

As for inactive ingredients? There are only a handful. Patriot uses stevia and natural flavors to sweeten the powder and give it its berry flavor, and there’s citric acid and silicon dioxide to help with preservation.

The Patriot Power Greens are gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and free of major allergens.

Taste and Solubility

Patriot Power Greens get high marks for taste and solubility. Amanda says it tastes so good that she was shocked, in a good way.

“It tastes like a juice-tea blend, kind of like black tea with fruit extracts. This is the ONLY greens powder to date that I have tried and can actually sip, rather than chug it in as little time as possible to get the benefits but not the terrible taste,” she says.

According to Amanda, the solubility is “insane” too.

“This powder mixes perfectly into cold water. It disappears like collagen peptides. As I write this, I’m sipping on a shaker bottle of this product and I’m bewildered—I’ve never had a greens powder before that doesn’t leave grainy residue at the bottom of the bottle or foam up terribly when shaken. This one gets slightly foamy when shaken, but the foam disappears quickly and you’re left with a smooth beverage that goes down easy,” she says.

Testing Patriot Power Greens

Side Effects

Some people may experience some digestive discomfort after taking greens powder—it stimulates your digestion and it does take some time to acclimate to pre- and probiotics. But Amanda says she felt great and didn’t have any side effects to report even after drinking her green juice every day for five straight days.

Third-Party Testing

Third-party testing is where the Patriot Power Greens lost some points. The company does say that every ingredient is tested for verification before manufacturing, and then tested again for heavy metals (lead, arsenic, and mercury) once they have the finished product. But they don’t say exactly who does the testing, and it appears that it’s done in-house.

While that has some merit, third-party testing from an unbiased lab is the gold standard.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Backed by notable health experts
  • Transparent and detailed ingredient list
  • 75 vitamins and minerals

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Some reviewers dislike the taste

Bottom Line

If you’re looking for a greens powder with a unique blend of minerals, nutrients, power greens, enzymes, and probiotics and you're willing to spend some money, Athletic Greens may be a good choice for you.

Athletic Greens AG1 is a popular health supplement that’s been made even more popular by some pretty great advertising. When you look under the hood, the supplements look pretty similar—they both have around 70 ingredients that include fruits and veggies, superfoods, probiotics, and digestive enzymes.

One of the biggest differences between these two supplements is that AG1 also has a mushroom blend that acts as adaptogens—or compounds that help your body better manage stress2. If you are particularly stressed out, AG1 might be the better choice for you. It’s considerably more expensive, though. A 30-serving bag costs $99, which is about double the cost per serving of the Patriot Power Greens. Learn more about AG1 with our full Athletic Greens review.

Customer Experience

Patriot offers a 100% money back guarantee on its greens supplements. If you don’t notice any improvements in health or symptoms, like increased energy levels, better digestive health, and/or less pain, after trying it for 30 days, the company will give you a refund.

The only catch is that you have to return any unused canisters with a quick note providing your honest feedback of the product. (This part isn’t really required, but the brand uses customer feedback to make tweaks to the product and says an explanation would really help them out a lot).

You do have to pay for return shipping and handling, and the company doesn’t refund any shipping fees that you initially paid, but you’ll get the full cost of the product(s) back.

Ordering Patriot Power Greens

Patriot Power Greens are available on Amazon and through the company’s website. If you purchase through Amazon, you’ll be subject to the retailer’s ordering and return policies. However, if you go through the website, you’ll find the bulk deals and autoship discount. You’ll also get free shipping in the contiguous U.S. when you spend at least $97.

You can make a one-time order, or set up an autoship that automatically sends out shipments every 30, 60, or 120 days—your choice.

Customer Reviews

It’s not just Amanda who has great things to say about the Patriot Power Greens. The green drink has amassed almost 650 reviews on Amazon and around 550 reviews on the brand’s official website. Most of these reviews are overwhelmingly positive, with the superfood powder earning a 4.4-star and 4.7-star average, respectively.

Customers rave about some of the health benefits, writing that it helped boost energy, reduce joint pain, and stabilize blood sugar and blood pressure. (These are personal results from reviewers, but make sure to talk to your doctor about how a greens powder can support your overall health and wellness before trying it for yourself.)

Of course, some of the positive reviews come from the fact that the Patriot Power Greens tastes good.

One Amazon reviewer writes, “Best green juice out there! I used to juice carrots, apples, kale, parsley, beets, ginger, etc. every day for 15 years till I found this and did lengthy research. It has more than I could EVER juice in a serving. My afternoon drag disappears after drinking this and my bloodwork is still excellent! I’m over 60.”

A reviewer from the brand’s website says, “I started taking the Greens a few years ago. It took a week before I noticed I had more energy and ambition than before. I have since quit taking it for a week or two to ‘test’ my results—then had to start back because I had reverted back to being a couch potato. This really works for me!”

Final Verdict of Our Patriot Power Greens Review

Patriot Power Greens is one of the best-tasting greens powders we’ve ever tried. It has an impressive ingredient list and dissolves even in cold water. We highly recommend it, especially if you’re looking for some additional digestive support.

Patriot Power Greens FAQs

How long does Patriot Power Greens last?

According to the brand, the greens powder is good for two years from the date of manufacturing. Because you don’t receive it as soon as it’s manufactured, you can expect around an 18- to 20-month shelf life once it arrives at your door.

What kind of greens are in Patriot Power Greens?

Patriot Power Greens ingredients include a blend of 40 fruits and vegetables, plus digestive enzymes and probiotics. Specifically, the greens are spirulina, kale, seaweed, broccoli, spinach, green cabbage, parsley, and celery. Most of these greens—with the exception of celery—are organic.

Do Patriot Power Greens work?

It really depends on what you’re trying to get out of the supplement. Greens powders aren’t like a pre-workout, where you’ll get an energy boost right away. But they provide important vitamins and minerals, and in the case of Patriot Power Greens, additional digestive support. Many people report increased energy and an overall feeling of wellness. At the very least, you’ll get vitamins and minerals that you may not be getting from your diet alone.
