For our 8Greens Gummies Review, we had some super greens gummies tested by Caine Wilkes, OLY, USAW-L1, GGR senior staff writer. Though we’ve already compiled a list of the best greens powders we’ve tried, we wanted to pivot to greens in gummy form to see if they’re a viable alternative.
Benefits of choosing super greens gummies instead of greens powders include consistency with your supplementation—they likely taste better than your typical greens powders—and portability/convenience since there’s no mixing involved. That said, are the 8Greens gummies worth trying? Let’s see what our testers thought.

A Quick Look at 8Greens Gummies
Dawn Russell, the founder of 8Greens, sought to remedy her health and wellness woes through nutrition and has since made it her mission to share the same revelations with others. At present, 8Greens sells greens powder, super greens gummies, tablets, chews, and even greens lollipops. Russell also consults with nutrition scientist Dr. Paula Trumbo for all their products.
Before You Buy
- Formula features 8 greens in just 2 gummies, but the quantity could be higher
- Customer reviews consistently rave about the taste and texture of these super greens gummies
- Never fear, vegans, this gummy is gelatin-free!
Are 8Greens Gummies Worth It?
8Greens boasts that just two of their gummies contain the equivalent of eight cups of spinach, two cups of broccoli, 10 stalks of asparagus, and two cups of beet greens. While it’s unclear if the gummies are equal to these foods in vitamin content, antioxidants, or both, it’s an impressive claim. They’re also budget-friendly at $0.88 per serving.

However, despite the fair price and enticing label claims that these gummies can help with metabolism, immunity, focus1, and even gut health, the formulation isn’t super special compared to similar products, and many of these claims need further research.
That said, if you’ve experienced trouble taking greens powders or other super greens supplements, it’s an affordable, tasty brand to choose if you want to try them.
Great for:
- Those who want a more palatable way to take greens
- People on a tight supplement budget
- Individuals on a vegan diet
Not recommended for:
- Those expecting a product packed with superfoods
- People wary of added sugar in their supplements
- Athletes who submit to drug testing

Experience Using 8Greens Gummies
We had 8Greens Gummies tested by Caine Wilkes, OLY, USAW-L1, and GGR senior staff writer, who had a generally good experience using this gummy for his daily greens. He liked the price and taste and didn’t experience any adverse side effects. However, he wasn’t a fan of the formulation, texture, or the fact that it’s not third-party tested.

Price Per Serving
We gave 8Greens a 5 out of 5 for its price, which comes to about $0.88 per serving for a two-gummy serving. This is pretty reasonable for a greens dietary supplement, let alone one in gummy form, as gummies tend to be more expensive.
Formulation
Our testers gave a score of 2 out of 5 for formulation—for good reason—as the breakdown of ingredients is pedestrian at best.
The nutrition facts label shows some random B vitamins, including riboflavin, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin B12, and vitamin B5. Not only is supplementing with B vitamins mostly unnecessary if you’re already eating a healthy, well-balanced diet2, but the quantity in these gummies ranges from only 11% to 44% of your daily value, which is far less than you’d find in a standard multivitamin.
RELATED: Best Low-Sugar Protein Bars 2024
It’s also not great that the first two ingredients are sugar and glucose syrup, resulting in 3 grams of added sugar. While this isn’t terrible, the biggest disappointment is the proprietary greens blend of the titular eight greens the gummy contains, which includes the following: Cellulose, Spinach, organic aloe vera, organic wheatgrass powder, kale, organic barley grass, organic blue-green algae, organic spirulina, and organic broken cell chlorella.
There are 150 milligrams of these greens, which made us question how much of each ingredient is actually present. As the blend makes it impossible to quantify, it’s likely not enough to deliver a significant amount of antioxidants.
Our team also didn’t like that there are no adaptogens, no fiber, and no real prebiotics or probiotics despite the claims that 8Greens Gummies helps with gut health. They do contain vegetable oil, though, for some reason.
There’s some good news, however! Since these daily greens gummies are made with pectin instead of gelatin, they are suitable for vegans, which is a rarity in the gummy market. The gummies are also gluten-free, non-GMO, dairy-free, and made with real greens. Outside of that, there isn’t much that blows us away in this formulation.
Taste and Swallowability
We gave 8Greens a 4.5 out of 5 for taste based on Caine’s feedback after he tried their Apple flavor. “It may be a little too sweet for me despite having a strong “green apple” flavor,” Caine says. “It took me a few days of using it to start to notice the taste of the greens, which is pretty good. In general, though, it may not be best for people sensitive to overly sweet supplements.”
RELATED: Best Pre-Workout Gummies
As far as swallowability, the gummies earn a 4 out of 5. “Eats like a gummy, so it’s definitely swallowable enough, but it has a weird texture. It’s not grainy or anything, but it feels less like a chewy gummy and more like gelatin, which probably explains why they stick together a lot.”
Side Effects
Our tester didn’t experience any negative side effects after using 8Greens gummies for about a week, so we gave them a 5 out of 5 in this category.
Third-Party Testing
For third-party testing, we gave a 1 out of 5 rating as 8Greens gummies are not third-party tested by a recognized body. The eight real greens included are part of a proprietary greens blend—not our favorite—and while the website says their manufacturing adheres to FDA guidelines and they consult with a nutrition scientist, this is not our definition of third-party testing.
Furthermore, those with gluten allergies should know that while there are no gluten-containing ingredients, these aren’t certified gluten-free, so supplement with caution.

- Mixed reviews on taste and effectiveness

Bottom Line
Grüns gummies are a vegan daily greens supplement. A packet of eight gummies is a single serving. These gummies include whole fruits and veggies, adaptogens, 20 vitamins and minerals, and other ingredients. The reviews are mixed for both flavor and effectiveness.
Both 8Greens and Grüns offer consumers the opportunity to get their daily greens via a delicious gummy (or several). Both super greens gummies are vegan-friendly—which is huge in gummy land—and are gluten-free and dairy-free. Both also contain carnauba leaf wax to prevent sticking. Finally, both products have a 30-day guarantee.
RELATED: What Are Super Greens?
When comparing formulas, Grüns Super Greens gummies contain a whopping 60 different superfoods, rather than just eight, along with many of the same vitamins 8Greens has, including vitamin C and vitamin B12, but in amounts that are 100% of the daily value, bringing them closer to multivitamin status.
Finally, Grüns gummies contain more than greens. They also feature prebiotics, antioxidants, and adaptogens. That said, Grüns gummies are way more expensive than 8Greens at almost $2 more per serving. Grüns also requires you to take eight gummies in a serving, which can be rough.

When you order directly from 8Greens, you can email hello@8greens.com to request a refund within 30 days of purchase, but it will take 10 business days to get the return processed, and simply emailing doesn’t guarantee a refund. If you need assistance while using 8Greens, there is a blog for FAQs, or you can email the same email as you would use for returns with inquiries. If you want to talk to a human being, you can call directly at 1-844-289-6984, which is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST.
Ordering 8Greens Gummies
There are two flavors of 8Greens Gummies in stock on their website: Apple and Peach. The cost is $22 for a one-time purchase, but you can save 15% by enrolling in their Subscribe & Save program, which will deliver your gummies automatically every two, four, six, or eight weeks.
Here’s the catch: no free shipping, something typically included in Subscribe and Save programs for dietary supplements. You will get “loyalty perks” and reward points, but outside of that, you’ll be paying the $7.50 flat rate for shipping regardless.
Customer Reviews
On the 8Greens website, their gummies a 4.4 out of 5 stars based on 262 reviews. Most people praise the taste and natural energy they get from taking them. However, most critical reviews dislike the packaging and ineffective lid on the container.
On Amazon, 8Greens Gummies are rated 4.2 out of 5 based on 3,170 reviews. Most reviews also praise the taste and texture, and complaints pertain to the lid and seal of the product.
Together, these customer review scores average to 4.3 out of 5 stars.
Final Verdict of Our 8Greens Gummies Review
All in all, our team loved the reasonable price, taste, and texture of 8Greens Gummies. However, given the lackluster formulation, we had to raise our eyebrows at the wide range of health claims this product supposedly covers.
If you’re looking for a powerhouse greens supplement like Athletic Greens, this isn’t the product for you. However, if you just can’t stand the taste of greens powder or a product like AG1 doesn’t fit your budget, 8Greens super greens gummies are a decent option.
- Affordable for most budgets, so worth a try despite the Subscribe & Save option having minimal benefits
- First 2 ingredients are sugars, so be wary if you’re watching your intake
