A Quick Look at Kaged Re-Kaged

Kaged (formerly Kaged Muscle), founded by bodybuilder and coach Kris Gethin, is an elite sports supplement brand that aims to support your health and wellness goals by providing you with the ingredients for success. Kaged has you covered pre-, intra-, and post-workout with their array of nutritional supplements. Their Pre-Kaged pre-workout puts a pep in your step before hitting the gym, and their intra-workout supplement and hydration electrolyte mix keep you going strong through your reps.

Is Kaged Re-Kaged Worth It?

Kaged Re-Kaged is more expensive than many other post-workout proteins at $2.25 per serving. But is it worth the extra money? We think Re-Kaged can be a great product because of its third-party testing and well-researched amounts of natural and patented ingredients, but others may see more value from a competing brand with more servings per container.

A person holds up a full scoop of Kaged re-Kaged between the container and a shaker glass of water.

  • Lifters who want to build muscle and need help with post-work recovery
  • Those who need a low-carb protein powder
  • Athletes who prioritize third-party tested supplements

Experience Using Kaged Re-Kaged

Anthony O’Reilly, CPT, CNC, trains hard and therefore understands the impact post-workout protein can have on recovery, so he put Kaged Re-Kaged to the test, examining this post-workout from every angle. He had an overall pleasant experience using this product and rates Re-Kaged highly for its formula, taste, and solubility—which we’ll expand on below.

Price Per Serving

At $44.99 for 20 servings, Kaged Muscle Re-Kaged isn’t cheap. We gave it 2 out of 5 for the price, noting that $2.25 per serving is pretty steep compared to other post-workout options, like Jacked Factory Growth Surge, which retails for around $1 per serving. Still, is it a “you get what you pay for” situation? Our review of its formulation says yes.

Formulation

The price tag gave us a little pause at first but made more sense once we assessed the high-quality formula, scoring Re-Kaged an impressive 4.5 out of 5 for its formulation. Re-Kaged is formulated with scientifically researched ingredients in clinically backed dosages, making it an excellent product for those with specific fitness goals.

A close up view of the details on a container of Kaged re-Kaged.

Re-Kaged only provides 140 calories per serving, as it contains minimal fat and carbohydrate content. Each scoop provides 28 grams of whey protein isolate and only 1 gram each of fat and carbs. Many post-workout shakes rely on BCAAs, but Re-Kaged relies on fermented L-glutamine instead. Glutamine, an amino acid, has been linked to faster recovery1 and reduced muscle soreness after a workout.

RELATED: Are BCAAs Worth It?

You’ll also notice each serving provides 1.5 grams of patented creatine HCl and 1.5 grams of betaine anhydrous in the form of BetaPower®—both powerful ingredients for post-workout recovery. However, Re-Kaged really stands out with its 280 milligrams of ProHydrolase®, a patented digestive enzyme blend that can enhance protein digestion and absorption.

Re-Kaged is free from artificial flavors or colors but is sweetened with sucralose and steviol glycosides, known to cause stomach upset in some users.

Taste and Solubility

Re-Kaged is available in three unique flavors: Iced lemon Cake, Strawberry Lemonade, and Orange Kream. Our tester, Anthony, was a fan of the Orange Kream flavor, giving it a 5 out of 5 for taste.

“First of all, I LOVE that someone is offering unique protein flavors. I tried the Orange Kream, and it tasted so good. If you’ve had orange and cream ice cream or an ice cream float with orange soda, it tastes like that,” he says.

RELATED: Best-Tasting Protein Powder

A person can be seen mixing Kaged re-Kaged powder into a shaker glass of water.

He also made note of any issues with the product’s solubility—because nobody likes a clumpy protein powder—and found that there really weren’t any. “No clumps. Used milk in a shaker bottle along with one of those shaker balls,” Anthony adds. He gave it another perfect score of 5 out of 5 for solubility.

Side Effects

Anthony gave Re-Kaged a 4 out of 5 for potential side effects, since he didn’t experience any adverse effects when taking Re-Kaged, but that doesn’t mean others won’t. High intakes of whey protein may cause bloating, tiredness, and reduced appetite in some people.

RELATED: Whey Protein Side Effects

Re-Kaged also contains sucralose, a no-calorie artificial sweetener. While most studies indicate it’s safe for consumption, some animal studies show that it can affect the gut microbiome2 and contribute to inflammation.

As for allergens, a typical serving of Re-Kaged contains less than 2 grams of lactose. However, those who are either lactose-intolerant or lactose-sensitive should consult with their doctor or gastroenterologist before adding Re-Kaged to their routine.

Third-Party Testing

Dietary supplements aren’t regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), so we love to see supplement companies take ownership and send their products for third-party testing. Kaged Muscle is one of those companies, and they hit it out of the park. Kaged adheres to third-party assurance practices to remain transparent and ensure their products are safe for consumers.

They show a true commitment to the customer’s trust by sending all of their products for testing through an independent lab. Re-Kaged is Informed-Sport certified, meaning it’s free from banned substances—a major factor for athletes who undergo testing for competitions.

All things considered, it’s no surprise that Re-Kaged scored 5-out-of-5 stars for third-party testing.

Ordering Kaged Re-Kaged

Kaged makes it easy to order Re-Kaged. However, at the time of our review, there’s only one flavor available—Strawberry Lemonade. Both Orange Kream and Iced Lemon Cake are sold out. Maybe a sign that those are their best sellers?

A bottle of Kaged re-Kaged stands proudly and prominently (but not precariously) positioned.

You can order Re-Kaged as a one-time purchase or set up a delivery subscription for 10% off each order. Since the protein powder is only available in tubs of 20 servings, a delivery subscription may help you avoid running out between orders.

Customer Reviews

At the time of writing, Kaged Pre-Kaged boasts a 4.8 out of 5 stars, coming from 727 on-site reviews. Many customers took the time to write a review about their experience with Re-Kaged, echoing Anthony’s experience with the delicious taste of Orange Kream. Still, a few said the protein powder was too sweet, and there weren’t enough servings per container to justify the spend.

Final Verdict of Kaged Re-Kaged Review

Kaged Muscle’s Re-Kaged is a little on the expensive side, but if there’s room in your budget, we think it has a lot to offer as a post-workout recovery protein. In addition to its impressive amino acid profile, Re-Kaged also contains clinically researched doses of creatine HCl and betaine anhydrous. Our tester, Anthony, was super pleased with the taste and solubility that Re-Kaged offered, giving it a perfect score in both categories. And if you’re still on the fence, it may give you peace of mind to know that Re-Kaged is third-party tested and Informed-Sport certified.
