A Quick Look at the DMoose Adjustable Bench
The DMoose Adjustable Bench frame is made of 3-inch-by-3-inch 11-gauge steel, and allows the 10.5-inch wide back pad to adjust to 10 different positions, ranging from 0 to 88 degrees. The seat can be adjusted to three different angles as well. The ladder design makes adjusting the bench easy and helps provide stability.
It can be stored vertically to save space and is easily movable thanks to the handle and wheels. As a nice added touch, the handle to move the bench is knurled. The bench is heavy, coming in at a weight of 110 pounds, but that’s because of the steel frame that will support a total weight of 1,000 pounds.

The bench will ship in two separate boxes, and it will be partly set up when you receive it. The assembly of the bench will take less than a half an hour, and tools are included with instructions. The pad has extra grip on it to prevent sliding while you’re using it, and this bench can be used for many weight training exercises inside or outside of a squat rack.
Before You Buy
- Measure out your space to make sure you can move, use, and store the bench without any issues
- Tools are included, but a ratchet set makes it even easier
- Assembly in your home gym is recommended due to its weight
Is the DMoose Adjustable Bench Worth It?
If you’re a seasoned lifter or wanting to train with heavy weights, then this bench would be a very solid choice. Its size, stability, versatility, and durability all make it a worthwhile investment. This bench is built to last as well; if you buy it, you will likely not need another one for a long time to come.
Beginners or people looking to stay within a tight budget may want to consider a smaller option. At over $650, this is a big purchase and it takes up a lot of space. If you’re not focused on strength or serious bodybuilding-style training, a different bench may be best for you.

Workout Experience Using the DMoose Adjustable Bench
I used this bench for numerous exercises such as shoulder barbell presses, bench presses, and box squats inside my squat rack, as well as dumbbell movements outside of the rack including incline presses, curls, and even chest supported dumbbell rows.

It was easy to set up and use for many exercises, and my overall impression is that this bench is very solid.
Footprint and Portability
The DMOOSE Adjustable Bench is longer than most adjustable benches, but it stores vertically, so storage shouldn’t be an issue for most home gym users. I like the knurled handle used to move it around because I can maintain control of it without losing grip. The wheels made it easy to roll so I can position it in different places and store it easily.
This bench has a 17.5-inch height, which means it’s above IPF standards of 17 inches. We like the 17-inch height, as it gives more people the opportunity for a good leg drive while using a bench, not to mention it’s competition standard, but it’s rare for an adjustable bench. I don’t think the .5 inches made a difference while I was using it, but it’s something to be aware of.
Durability and Construction
This bench is made with 11-gauge steel, meaning it’s heavy-duty, as is indicated by the 1,000-pound weight capacity. There are no imbalances or issues with this bench staying stable, and I used it to bench press as much as 405 pounds at a bodyweight of 270 pounds, meaning I had as much as 675 pounds on it and I felt safe throughout. When it came to dumbbell work, I did both incline presses and chest-supported rows with a 100-pound dumbbell, and I was able to concentrate on the movement because of how reliable the bench felt.

Pad Gap and Materials
Because of the grip on the pad, I was able to dig my shoulders in for presses and remained stable and comfortable for all the exercises I used it for. Even with a considerable amount of sweat, I didn’t slide on the pad. Cleaning it was easy as well.
The 1-inch pad gap is minimal and I never felt anything odd or uncomfortable when the bench pads were at various angles. Compared to the REP AB-4100 with its 1.57-inch pad gap and the REP AB-5200 with its 2-inch pad gap, this is a nice feature.
RELATED: REP AB-5200 Review
Because of the steel frame, however, the bench is heavy. I’ve been training for a while, and I had no trouble moving it so far. However, beginners and people who don’t train for strength may find this to be a small issue.

Pros & Cons
Pros
- Meets IPF standards for weight benches (on an adjustable bench. Not typical!)
- Same number of adjustments as the REP AB-5200
- Sells for just under $400, a great price for a quality weight bench
- Seven different color options
Cons
- Back pad is a little shorter than the AB-5200
- Doesn’t have a decline option
- Nit-picky here, but the knobs feel unnecessarily cheap
Bottom Line
An affordable, lightweight, and heavy-duty adjustable weight bench perfect for most home gym owners.
The obvious comparison that may come up when looking at this bench is with the REP AB-4100 Adjustable Weight Bench, which we’ve rated very highly.
In short, the DMoose bench is more expensive and bigger, but it also has a greater weight capacity and more backpad angles. The seat pad angles for the DMoose bench (15, 30 degrees) are also better in my opinion. I would give the nod on warranty to REP. You can break down the tale of the tape on both for yourself below, and also read more in our REP AB-4100 adjustable bench review.

Customer Experience
DMoose’s website is easy to navigate and order from. After you checkout, they offer a 30-day money-back guarantee if you’re not satisfied with the bench, but there is no timetable listed for a replacement warranty. They do have customer service options on their website if you have questions, including email and phone number.
Ordering and Assembling the DMoose Adjustable Bench
This bench can only be ordered through the DMOOSE website (sorry, Amazon fans). You can either pay in full or take advantage of their payment plan. Shipping was free.
The bench was supposed to arrive at my house in two boxes on the same day, but one was lost by FedEx and took several days longer to arrive. During the unboxing, I noticed there was damage to the second box and the bench, which I reported to DMoose. They offered to replace it, but I declined since the damage was cosmetic and didn’t affect the bench’s performance.
Once I did have both packages, assembly took less than 15 minutes because I used a ratchet set. Even if I used the tools included, it shouldn’t take most people longer than 30 minutes to put this together.
Customer Reviews
As of this writing, the DMoose Adjustable Bench is sold out on their website, which is the only place it was available to purchase, but they did have customer reviews on their site and they are overwhelmingly positive. As of this writing, the bench has an average 5-star rating out of 42 reviews.
Reviewer Laura P. said: “Exceeded expectations! Comfortable foam pad and perfect for various exercises. Easy to switch angles and move around. Great fitness investment.”

DMoose Adjustable Weight Bench: FAQs
Are adjustable benches worth it?
Lifters who follow bodybuilding training or who want to focus on personal fitness in a home gym would be wise to invest in an adjustable bench. Powerlifters and Strongman or Strongwoman competitors would also be wise to have access to a bench that offers different angles. Olympic weightlifting athletes may not feel a need to have an adjustable bench, but the vast majority of home gym trainees will find one to be a valuable piece of fitness equipment to have.
Which REP bench is the best?
If you’re loyal to the REP Fitness brand, then you can’t go wrong with the AB-4100 Adjustable Weight Bench. It’s high-quality, priced fairly, and can increase the number of exercises you can complete in your home gym.
Should I buy a flat or incline bench?
The answer to this question depends on your personal commitment to training. If your focus is on general fitness, then a simple flat bench would probably be all you need. If you want to maximize physique development and strength, then you would be wise to have access to incline angles, which means buying an adjustable bench. The adjustable version gives you both flat and incline access.
What is the purpose of an adjustable weight bench?
Adjustable benches allow you to perform various exercises with your upper body in different angles, which will make the exercises more challenging. Presses are the most popular movements to perform on an incline, but you can also perform rows, curls, and tricep extensions from an incline as well. They can be used with barbells in a squat rack or with dumbbells anywhere you have space to perform the exercises.
