Experience Using Green Surge
Our product tester Nicole Davis, GGR Head of Content, tried the Mixed Berry flavor of Green Surge. She combined one scoop of the powder supplement with water and mixed using a shaker bottle. Nicole was impressed by both the flavor and solubility of this greens powder, especially considering its more affordable price tag.
Nicole says, “This is one of the best—if not the best—budget greens powders on the market when it comes to formulation, taste, and of course, price.” She likes that it doesn’t have an overpowering grass flavor like most greens powders and says, “If you’d rather not feel like you’re drinking grass, try this one—you won’t be disappointed!”

Price Per Serving
Green Surge is sold on both the Jacked Factory website and Amazon. On the company website, each container of Green Surge costs $29.99. There are 30 servings per container and each serving costs $1.00.
However, if you’re looking for a discounted price we suggest ordering the product on Amazon where each container is sold for only $22.49 ($7.50 less than if you order on the Jacked Factory website). At this reduced price, each serving comes out to $0.75, making it one of the cheapest super greens powders on the market. Therefore, we rated the price per serving a solid 5 out of 5.
Formulation
We rated Green Surge’s formulation a 3 out of 5 considering it contains greens powders, probiotics, inulin, digestive enzymes, and fruit extracts but lacks mushrooms and adaptogens. We like that the product label includes the amount of each blend and other ingredients.
The probiotic and inulin blend contains inulin and six probiotic strains. Inulin is a soluble fiber found in many plants that nourishes beneficial gut bacteria crucial for gut health. In addition to promoting gut health, inulin may promote satiety and help regulate blood sugar.
Probiotics are live microorganisms (mainly bacteria) that help maintain a healthy balance of bacteria in the gut, important for digestion and nutrient absorption. Probiotics like lactobacillus acidophilus in Green Surge may help alleviate gastrointestinal discomfort like gas, bloating, and diarrhea.
RELATED: Best Probiotic Supplements
Green Surge contains several different greens powders made from spirulina, wheatgrass, spinach, broccoli, carrots, and collards. These ingredients are sources of many essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
Antioxidants may reduce inflammation and help protect cells from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. Green Surge does not provide detailed information regarding its vitamin and mineral content. However, its ingredients likely contribute to some amounts of vitamins A, C, E, and K. These micronutrients support the immune system, vision, and strong bones.
Furthermore, the product offers a digestive enzyme blend. Digestive enzymes help break down protein, carbs, and fat into smaller molecules absorbed and utilized by the body for muscle building, energy production, brain function, hormone production, and more.
As if that’s not enough, the product offers grape seed extract and green tea leaf extract, which both offer powerful antioxidants. Green tea extract contains caffeine, so you may feel an energy boost after taking Green Surge.
Finally, the product is flavored with natural and artificial ingredients. It contains stevia extract, sucralose, citric acid, and natural flavors.
Taste and Solubility
The four flavor options include Mixed Berry, Lemon Lime, Sour Apple, and Unflavored. Nicole rated the Mixed Berry taste a 4.5 out of 5. She was impressed with the flavor and pleased to find it doesn’t have too much of the offputting grassy taste. Nicole said, “It’s really tasty. You definitely still get the grassy flavor but berry makes it more palatable.” The natural flavors, sweeteners, and citric acid likely mask the flavors of some of the vegetable powders contained in Green Surge.
She also rated solubility high at 4.5 out of 5 and said, “It does settle a bit if you let it sit, but with a quick reshake, it’s fine!”
Side Effects
Although our product tester didn’t encounter any adverse effects, she acknowledged the potential for certain individuals to experience side effects from specific ingredients in the product, leading her to rate this category as a 4 out of 5.
Green Surge contains sucralose, an artificial sweetener that may lead to gastrointestinal distress like bloating, diarrhea, and abdominal pain in some individuals. Additionally, some research1 suggests that artificial sweeteners may disrupt the balance of beneficial bacteria in the gut.
Moreover, the product includes wheat, a common food allergen. Individuals with a wheat allergy should avoid consuming Green Surge to prevent potential allergic reactions.
Supergreens powders, including Green Surge, often don’t list their nutrient content on the label, making it impossible to know the amounts of vitamins and minerals in each serving. It’s important to note that greens powders and multivitamins commonly share similar nutrients. Concurrently taking both supplements could result in vitamin toxicity especially if you’re already consuming a balanced diet.
RELATED: Greens Powder vs Multivitamin
Similarly, certain vitamins and minerals may interact with specific medications and medical conditions. Before starting a new dietary supplement, consult with your doctor to ensure safety and minimize potential contraindications.
Third-Party Testing
Green Surge greens powder is not third-party tested, earning it a rating of 1 out of 5 in this area. Third-party testing is important for many consumers who value label transparency, product quality, and safety. This process guarantees that a supplement has undergone rigorous assessment to validate ingredient accuracy and the absence of harmful contaminants.

Pros & Cons
Pros

- 75 vitamins and minerals
Cons
- Expensive
- Some reviewers dislike the taste
Bottom Line
If you’re looking for a greens powder with a unique blend of minerals, nutrients, power greens, enzymes, and probiotics and you're willing to spend some money, Athletic Greens may be a good choice for you.
Athletic Greens is a popular greens powder amongst influencers and wellness gurus.
Compared to Green Surge, which is priced at $0.75 to $1 per serving, Athletic Greens is significantly more expensive at $2.48. The drastic price variation between Athletic Greens and Green Surge is likely attributed to several factors, including the broader range of ingredients in Athletic Greens and its third-party testing.
The 75 ingredients on the Athletic Greens label may appear impressive, but you certainly don’t need that many to obtain a wide variety of micronutrients. While Green Surge contains much fewer ingredients, they both likely offer similar vitamins and minerals.
Both products offer a diverse range of superfood ingredients, probiotics, and digestive enzymes. However, Athletic Greens also contains adaptogens, like mushroom powders and ashwagandha.
Athletic Greens provides detailed micronutrient content on its label, a feature absent on the label of Green Surge. Conversely, Green Surge specifies the amounts of each ingredient, whereas Athletic Greens utilizes proprietary blends.
