Protein is essential for meeting many health, fitness, and athletic performance goals, so it’s important to find high-protein options that fit your dietary preferences.
For the plant-based crowd, there’s a lot to consider when choosing a protein powder. Factors like price, ingredient quality, consistency, and taste play a huge role in whether or not a specific product will work for you and your needs.
Organifi Complete Protein is a popular vegan protein powder, but is it the best choice? As a vegan registered dietitian, I’ve partnered with Nicole Davis, GGR Head of Content and Precision Nutrition Level 1 Nutrition Coach, to create the most comprehensive Organifi Complete Protein review you’ll find anywhere.

A Quick Look at Organifi Complete Protein
Known for its adaptogens and superfood powdered green juice, Organifi offers a plant-based protein powder marketed for its ability to reduce food cravings, assist with weight loss, and “hack” your metabolism.

As a blend of complementary plant proteins, Organifi Complete Protein provides optimal amounts of all nine essential amino acids needed to gain muscle and support overall health. It’s gluten-free, non-GMO, soy-free, and contains no glyphosate residues.
Before You Buy
- Organifi Complete Protein is higher in calories and fat than many other plant protein powders.
- Ordering multiple bottles at once will save you money, but this is probably only worth it if you already know you like the product.
- It’s pricey compared to similar plant protein powders.
Is Organifi Complete Protein Worth It?
With 20 grams of a complete plant protein blend per serving, Organifi Complete Protein is an effective product that, when paired with a balanced diet, provides the benefits of plant-based protein powders and can help you meet increased protein requirements for muscle building, weight management, and making meals more satisfying.
That said, at $2.67 a serving, it’s an expensive product for what it is. Similar plant-based products made with a blend of complementary plant proteins exist for less, so the price seems a bit exorbitant.
However, it may be worth it if you love the brand and value the glyphosate residue-free verification.
Great for:
- Anyone wanting an organic protein powder free from artificial ingredients and glyphosate residues
- Vegans and dairy-free individuals looking for a blend of complementary plant proteins
- Individuals looking to build muscle and optimize recovery
Not recommended for:
- Anyone on a tight budget
- Those avoiding all added sugars
- People needing a lower-calorie protein powder

Experience Using Organifi Complete Protein
Nicole Davis, CPT, PN1-NC, has tried dozens of protein powders and was happy to test the vanilla Organifi Complete Protein for us and use it as part of her normal protein supplementation routine.
She thought the flavor was mild, but enjoyed the taste overall. “I like the taste of this and the feeling of fullness I get from it, but the price is outrageous,” she said. “If you’re going to try a plant-based protein powder for the first time, this isn’t the one I’d recommend, mostly because of the price.”
Price Per Serving
Unfortunately, the sticker shock from this protein is impossible to ignore. At $79.95 per 30-serving container, this is a budget-buster for many people.
If you’re fortunate enough to have disposable income and highly value organic, non-GMO, glyphosate-free supplements, this could be a good product for you. However, if you’re simply looking for a high-quality protein powder to add to your wellness or fitness routine, similar products are available at a lower price point.
At $2.67 per serving, we rated Organifi Complete Protein 1 out of 5 stars for price.
Formulation
Organifi combines pea protein, flaxseed protein, quinoa protein, and pumpkin seed protein to make their “complete protein” blend. Each of these contains all nine essential amino acids in varying proportions. Combining them more closely mimics the amino acid profile of complete proteins like whey and soy.
Also included is a digestive enzyme blend with amylase, cellulase, protease, and lipase to make digesting the fats, carbs, and proteins easier. Lactase, the enzyme needed to digest the milk sugar lactose, is included but unnecessary considering the product is dairy-free. The exception would be for lactose intolerant individuals who mix this protein with dairy milk.
As a dietitian, I think the fruit and vegetable blend is primarily just marketing. Most people can easily get enough of these whole-food vitamins and minerals from their normal diet, even vegans. To me, this blend hikes the price up for minimal benefit, and the amounts of magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, and potassium are almost insignificant.
Additionally, the use of agave and acacia fibers as prebiotics likely isn’t very effective considering there’s only 1 total gram of dietary fiber per serving.
With 20 grams of protein per serving, however, this powder is an effective way to boost your protein intake, help make meals more satisfying, and build muscle, earning 4 out of 5 stars for formulation.

Taste and Solubility
Nicole tried the vanilla flavor, which she found pleasant but too subtle. Said Nicole, “I tried it with oat milk, and I think that may have overpowered the vanilla flavor a bit. The vanilla is not very strong overall.”
The flavor was so mild that Nicole said her protein shake tasted more like a buttermilk pancake, although she appreciated that it was less strong than the vanilla flavor from Orgain.
In terms of solubility, Nicole thought it mixed very smoothly even without a shaker ball. “It’s also pretty thick when mixed, which I prefer over the thin, watery whey proteins you can sometimes get.”
With a nice but very subtle flavor, Organifi got 3 out of 5 stars for taste. That said, it does mix incredibly well, earning 5 stars here.
Side Effects
People taking protein powder frequently report unpleasant symptoms like bloating and gas. Most often, this happens to people with lactose intolerance when consuming whey protein concentrates.
Fortunately, Nicole didn’t experience any side effects from this whey-free protein, putting it in good company with the best protein powder for sensitive stomachs.
Third-Party Testing
Organifi impressed us with the fact that they have every product batch tested by independent labs for potential contaminants like heavy metals, gluten, and microorganisms. They also list Certificates of Analysis directly on their website.
However, we felt that Organifi’s use of proprietary blends conflicted with its commitment to transparency. It isn’t clear how much protein comes from each of the four ingredients in the protein blend; likewise, the amount of each digestive enzyme per serving isn’t labeled.
It was for this reason that we gave Organifi 2 of 5 stars for third-party testing.

Customer Experience
Organifi offers a 60-day money-back guarantee, which is great considering how pricy this protein is. To get a refund, contact customer service at support@organifi.com within 60 days of receiving the product.
We didn’t have any issues that needed to be addressed by customer service, but we don’t anticipate significant problems considering the number of positive customer reviews online.
Ordering Organifi Complete Protein
Ordering from the Organifi website is simple—simply choose your flavor, add it to your virtual cart, proceed to checkout, enter your shipping and payment information, and submit your order.
Standard shipping to Texas, where I live, was relatively pricy at $12.95. However, you can save a little money on your order with the following promotions:
- Free shipping on $150 or more (USA)
- Save 15% off your first order by signing up for marketing emails
- Subscribe and Save to get 10% off and free shipping
- Order 3 or 6 bottles at once (a great option if you already like the product and consume a lot of it)
Customer Reviews
With a 4.9-star rating from 705 reviews on the Organifi website, it’s safe to say that customers love this protein despite its high price. They consistently praise the great taste, easy digestibility, and clean ingredients list. There truly weren’t any negative reviews to be found.
On Amazon, Organifi Complete Protein is rated 4.6 stars from only 4 reviews. Only one person left a written review, saying she enjoyed the vanilla flavor in smoothies and appreciated the ingredients.
Final Verdict of Our Organifi Complete Protein Review
Organifi Complete Protein is much more expensive than similar plant protein blends, so we wouldn’t recommend it for people needing to get the most value for their money. The vitamin and mineral blend sounds nice but is largely unnecessary when this protein is used to supplement a balanced diet containing whole foods, as intended.
That said, we appreciated the following positives:
- 20 grams of protein per serving from a blend of complementary plant proteins
- A mild yet pleasant vanilla flavor, although it may be too subtle for some
- Mixes smoothly in liquid
- Natural sweeteners and no artificial ingredients
- Overwhelmingly positive customer reviews
- Tree nuts (coconut) are the only allergen
