The best under-desk treadmills shouldn’t break the bank. You’ve probably sunk enough time, effort, and money on your #WFH setup with an adjustable height desk and ergonomic chair. I’m here to help you make sure you get the right under-desk treadmill for your needs. That’s why I’m going walk you through the pros and cons of this walking machine in our Sunny Health and Fitness Walkstation Slim Flat Treadmill review.
We Know a Thing or Two About Treadmills
Our team at Garage Gym Reviews comprises certified personal trainers, nutrition coaches, gym owners, Olympic-level athletes, and former college athletes. We’ve collectively tested over 40 different treadmills—from the best commercial treadmill to the best budget option—so you have the insights you need to make the best decision for your home gym.
Former GGR product tester Caroline Lubinksy tested the Sunny Health & Fitness Walkstation under-desk treadmill. She not only used the machine, but went through our in-depth fitness equipment testing methodology to rate 12 different categories on a scale of 1 to 5. Each category poses questions to our testers to help streamline the testing process. Here is an example of the categories and questions our testers ask during the testing process:
- Durability: What is the motor size and strength?
- Ergonomics: Will the running surface accommodate a range of different heights?
- Footprint: How much room does it take up when not stowed?
- Tech capabilities: Can the treadmill connect to third-party workout apps?

A Quick Look at the Sunny Health And Fitness Under-Desk Treadmill Slim Work Office Treadmill
You may notice there are a few different versions of the Slim Flat under-desk treadmill on Amazon and the Sunny Health & Fitness website (including a Smart model with Bluetooth, and models with foldable console). But, for the purposes of this review, I’m going to focus on the Walking Pad option you’ll see on Amazon, which is called the Walkstation on the brand’s website.

Before You Buy
- There is a minimum user weight of 99 pounds in order for the treadmill to work.
- Expect a small digital monitor on the hood of the treadmill to display time, speed, calories, steps, and distance.
- You will not need to mess with assembly of the SF-T7945 treadmill because it’s ready to use right out of the box.
Is the SF-T7945 Under-Desk Treadmill Worth It?
If you’re in the market for an under-desk treadmill, the Sunny Health & Fitness Walkstation treadmill might check all the boxes for you. However, it’s designed for walking and truly can’t be used for running with a maximum speed of 3.75 mph.
RELATED: Best Home Treadmill for Running
If a walking-only treadmill suits you, keep in mind this budget machine has a fairly short walking deck (39 inches long) and a moderate weight capacity (220 pounds) that will not accommodate everyone. If you still fit within the parameters of this machine’s specs, we think it may be worth your investment.
You can purchase the SF-T7945 from sunnyhealthfitness.com or Amazon. In either case, you’ll notice this treadmill is often on sale at $299.99, marked down from $399.99, which we think is a solid price for what you get. The SF-T7945 earns a 4-out-of-5-star rating when it comes to overall value.
Great for:
- Under-desk walking
- Hitting 10,000 steps per day
- Folks on a budget
Not recommended for:
- Folks over 220 lbs
- Running
- Tall people

Using the Sunny Health And Fitness Walkstation Slim Flat Treadmill
Former GGR tester Caroline used the under-desk treadmill from Sunny Health & Fitness on a daily basis to get a sense of its versatility and see how it held up to daily walking. Caroline primarily walked on the treadmill at her adjustable-height desk. She used the included remote control to stop, start, and control the treadmill’s speed.
Before we get into Caroline’s experience, it’s worth noting that because this is a small, under-desk treadmill it received low scores for the following categories:
- Ergonomics: The treadmill’s built-in shock absorbers weren’t enough to outshine the short 39-inch walking deck, which may make it hard for some folks to get a full stride.
- Customizations: The speed range does not allow for anything other than walking and there are no incline settings to switch up your routine.
- Dynamic programming: With no media shelf or connectivity options, this treadmill is truly designed for use under a desk during work hours.
Footprint and Portability
When our testers score treadmills on footprint and portability, we’re looking to make sure its size and weight allow it to be moved with one or two people. We also want to see features like transportation wheels, and a hydraulic folding mechanism (if applicable).
RELATED: Best Folding Treadmills
While Sunny Health & Fitness Walkstation treadmill isn’t foldable, it has a low-profile design. Its size and weight make it easy enough for one person to tip it on the transport wheels and roll it around. And because it’s only 55 pounds, two people can easily pick it up and move it up a flight of stairs. For this reason, the SF-T7945 earns a 5-out-of-5-star rating in this category.
“It’s really easy to move from one room to another,” says Caroline. “I was able to easily utilize the built-in wheels to move my machine from the office to the living room to watch TV while I walk.”
Durability and Construction
For how light the Walkstation treadmill is, our tester Caroline was surprised to find how solid it felt during use, even with top speeds of 3.75 mph. Caroline used the machine on carpeted and hardwood flooring and found it to be solid on both.
Initially, Caroline was skeptical about the 1.5 horsepower motor, knowing that by GGR standards, we’re looking for a treadmill motor with at least 2.5 horsepower. However, we’ve found that smaller motors are often adequate for walking-only machines. Caroline said the motor had no problem being used for hours at a time, with her longest bout being six hours during a single workday.
Overall, the treadmill earns a 3.5-out-of-5-star rating. Although we found it sturdy, there is quite a bit of plastic construction, which has our team hesitant about longevity. Plus, the weight capacity is 220 pounds, which is under industry standards and can potentially show more wear and tear than machines with higher weight ratings.
Technology and Conveniences
While the SF-T7945 doesn’t offer technology like Bluetooth or WiFi, there are a few features that are worth mentioning that can make your experience on the Walkstation safer.
First, the Walkstation treadmill features an active-use detection and automatic shut-off. “This means if you hop off the deck while the treadmill is moving, it will automatically come to a halt,” says Caroline.
Caroline tested this automatic shut-off feature, but noted that the string attached to the emergency stop clip was too short for her, but worked for her shorter roommate. “I think the brand just needs to extend the attached string to eliminate this concern for taller folks,” says Caroline.

Bottom Line
The GoPlus 2-in-1 Folding Treadmill is a great value purchase for any walker or casual jogger looking to save space while still getting in a solid cardio session. If you are looking for a treadmill to train for your next marathon on, this is not the one for you.
The Sunny Health & Fitness Walkstation treadmill is similar to many of our top picks for under-desk treadmills. However, the GoPlus 2-in-1 treadmill stands out as one of the most similar items.
For the same price, the GoPlus offers a higher user weight, stronger motor horsepower, and a vertsile speed range that can support running speeds. It’s also a folding treadmill that can be folded down to fit under your workstation or the handrail can be folded up to provide extra security. The main tradeoff we discuss in the GoPlus treadmill review is the fact the warranty policy only lasts 90 days.

Customer Reviews
On Amazon the Walkstation treadmill has a 4.1-out-of-5-star average rating. There are over 800 customer reviews and about 60% of customers give the walking treadmill a 5-star rating. While there are tons of glowing reviews, we think it’s important to point out there were quite a few negative comments about the belt slipping and poor customer service.
Final Verdict of Our Sunny Health And Fitness Walkstation Slim Flat Treadmill Review
If you’re still on the fence about the Sunny Health & Fitness Walkstation, keep in mind it’s a solid option for folks who fit in the parameters of the specs. It’s not the most inclusive treadmill on the market, so you’ll need to be sure that your weight and stride can fit on this machine.

Sunny Health And Fitness Walkstation Slim Flat Treadmill: FAQs

Sunny Health & Fitness offers an accessible and budget-friendly price point. And for the price, the equipment is pretty good. We’ve recommended quite a few Sunny treadmills including the SF-T4400 on our best budget treadmill roundup.
Are mini treadmills any good?
Most mini and under-desk cardio equipment (like the best mini exercise bikes and ellipticals) are often convenient ways to supplement your cardiovascular exercise, but not always the best machines to rely on for your sole source of fitness.
