Greens powders have become quite popular in recent years, providing a blend of freeze-dried fruits and vegetables in a convenient powder form. While nothing can replace eating your vegetables, greens powders are a good supplement option if you want to make sure you’re getting in as many micronutrients as possible.
While many companies only focus on the greens themselves, Transparent Labs has gone a step further, adding prebiotic fibers to their product to help support a healthy gut. In this Transparent Labs Prebiotic Greens review, I’ll be sharing exactly what makes this product different and letting you know who we think should consider this formula, which made our list of the Best Greens Powders.

A Quick Look at Transparent Labs Prebiotic Greens Review
As the company name suggests, Transparent Labs takes pride in manufacturing supplements with high-quality ingredients, transparent labels, and third-party testing so customers know exactly what they’re getting in each scoop. The company makes a wide range of basic supplements like creatine and BCAAs, as well as a variety of protein powders, including whey protein, mass gainer, and more.

When it comes to green powders, it’s common to see a wide blend of fruits and vegetables, as well as ingredients like digestive enzymes, probiotics, or prebiotic fibers that offer additional health benefits like improved gut health, detoxification, and immune system support.
This specific formula contains prebiotic fibers, which are meant to support digestive health. According to a 2018 study published in Current Developments in Nutrition, “Prebiotic dietary fibers act as carbon sources for primary and secondary fermentation pathways in the colon, and support digestive health in many ways.”
Unlike probiotics, which are meant to deliver healthy bacteria to the gut, prebiotic fiber is meant to fuel and support the existing gut bacteria. In this greens formula, Transparent Labs has included a blend of gluten-free fibers to support a healthy digestive system, and each serving delivers high-quality nutrients along with these gut-friendly fibers.
Before You Buy
- This formula uses aquatic greens and prebiotic fibers, rather than greens from traditional fruits and vegetables.
- The ingredient list is simple, but the labeling is very transparent and the company provides third-party testing.
- Transparent Labs designed this formula to be very gut-friendly and support a healthy digestive system, rather than simply focusing on adding as many different vegetables as possible.
Is Transparent Labs Prebiotic Greens Worth It?
Prebiotic Greens certainly has a good formulation when it comes to greens powders, rich in fiber and antioxidants, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best fit for every person. And at $1.53 per serving, it’s neither the most expensive nor most affordable product of its kind available. Before you order a tub, you’ll want to make sure that Prebiotic Greens is the right formula to help you reach your wellness goals.
Great for:
- Those who want a greens supplement with added fiber
- Anyone looking for aquatic greens, including chlorella and spirulina
- Anyone who wants transparent labeling and third-party testing
Not recommended for:
- Those looking for a green superfood that can replace all dietary fruits and vegetables
- Anyone looking to avoid additional fiber
- Those on a tight budget

Experience Using Transparent Labs Prebiotic Greens
For this review, GGR’s Head of Content, Nicole Davis, CPT, PN-CNC, tested Transparent Labs Prebiotic Greens. I haven’t tried this myself, but I have tested many of the most popular greens supplements over the years, like Athletic Greens, so I’m well aware they can vary greatly in taste, solubility, and side effects.
Greens powders are made from freeze-dried fruits and vegetables, often with added vitamins, minerals, adaptogens, or digestive enzymes. They won’t replace eating whole vegetables, but if you’re in a pinch, they can offer a nice way to consume a hefty dose of vitamins and minerals.

Greens powders are versatile and can be blended into smoothies, added to a pre-workout drink, mixed with protein powder, or taken anytime you want to give your health a boost.
Overall, Nicole was very impressed with most aspects of this formula, though the ingredient list was a little bit lacking. She didn’t notice any side effects, but as this formula is meant to promote gut health, those struggling with digestive health may see a benefit. Many customer reviews mention how much better they felt, with improved digestive health and reduced bloating, though your results may vary.
Price Per Serving
At $1.53 per serving, Transparent Labs Prebiotic Greens scored an average 3-out-of-5-star rating. You can also set up a subscribe-and-save option, which brings the per-serving cost slightly down to $1.38, but this earns a score of 3 out of 5 from us either way.
Formulation
For the overall formulation, we give Prebiotic Greens a 2-out-of-5-star rating. We like seeing the organic spirulina and chlorella, which studies have shown1 may help reduce inflammation, improve exercise endurance, and support cardiovascular health.
The non-GMO, gluten-free prebiotic fibers are a nice touch, providing the plant-based fiber inulin, and there are no artificial coloring, preservatives, or heavy metals. However, there’s nothing for energy or adaptogens included, and there are only two types of greens, while many other alternatives offer a more comprehensive blend of fruits and vegetables.
There are no added amino acids, but each serving contains 7 grams of carbs and 4 grams of protein.
Taste and Solubility
Taste and solubility are very important, especially in a greens powder, which often has a strong grassy taste. Nicole gave this a rating of 4 out of 5 for taste and 4.5 out of 5 for solubility. She specifically noted that the Peach Mango flavor was sweet, but not overly sweet, and still had a bit of an earthy taste.
She could taste the stevia, but said it wasn’t overpowering, and mentioned that another tester found that mixing the greens with orange juice hid most of the grassy flavor. We haven’t tested the original, unflavored version yet.

Side Effects
For side effects, Prebiotic Greens earns a 4-out-of-5-star rating. Nicole didn’t notice any side effects, and many users also reported positive results, with improved digestive health and reduced bloating.
Your results may vary, but the formula was designed to be very gut-friendly, so it’s good to see that most users aren’t reporting any issues with the ingredients. That said, those with issues digesting any of the fibers in this formula should avoid this product.

Third-Party Testing
For third-party testing, Transparent Labs earns a 5-out-of-5-star rating. Its formulas are Informed Choice tested, and each product has recent testing results available that you can view on the website.
The most recent test for Prebiotic Greens was completed just three months prior to the time of writing this article, so it seems they’re testing throughout the year for most products.

Bottom Line
KOS Show Me the Greens is a great option for those seeking organic, whole-food greens powders. The taste is subtle, making it a decent option on its own or a good additive to smoothies.
If you’re not sure whether Transparent Labs Prebiotic Greens is the right choice for you, let’s compare it to another popular option we’ve tested, KOS Show Me The Greens, which is significantly cheaper, especially when purchased on Amazon.
Similar to Prebiotic Greens, Show Me The Greens contains a mix of both freeze-dried greens and prebiotic fibers. However, Show Me The Greens also includes nine additional greens on top of spirulina and chlorella, so it packs a bit more of a nutritional punch than Prebiotic Greens.
However, Transparent Labs has third-party testing, an important step to verify purity and label accuracy, which may be worth the extra cost.
Overall, Show Me The Greens is best for those who want more than spirulina and chlorella, while Prebiotic Greens is a better choice for those who place more value on third-party testing.

Final Verdict of Our Transparent Labs Prebiotic Greens Review Review
Overall, Transparent Labs Prebiotic Greens is a high-quality supplement with both organic greens and prebiotic fibers to support digestive health. There are only two types of greens, so we’d like to see more fruits and vegetables added to the blend, but the prebiotic fibers are a nice touch.
Transparent Labs also provides Informed Choice testing and shares copies of the lab reports, so this is a company you can trust. If you’re looking for a supplement that can support your gut health and you value third-party testing, this is a great choice.
- Short ingredient list but contains high-quality ingredients with transparent labeling.
- Some users may not enjoy the flavor, but our tester found it enjoyable, without being overpowering.
- This isn’t the cheapest greens powder we’ve tested, but you’re paying extra for quality and third-party testing.

Transparent Labs Prebiotic Greens: FAQs
Are prebiotic greens good for you?
Prebiotic greens contain freeze-dried vegetables and prebiotic fibers, both of which may support overall health and digestive health. However, if you’re already eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, you may not notice as much of a benefit.
Are green powders probiotic?
Not all greens powders contain prebiotics or probiotics, so it depends on the brand. High-quality supplements will disclose what’s in them on the label and should make it clear if they include probiotics.
What happens when you take prebiotics every day?
Prebiotics are types of fiber, so if you’re used to following a low-fiber diet, you may experience digestive stress as your body adjusts. If you’re already consuming a diet high in fiber, you may not notice much of a difference from adding prebiotics.
