A Quick Look at Jacked Factory Nitrosurge Pre-Workout

Jacked Factory Nitrosurge Pre-Workout is designed to enhance endurance, focus, strength, and power during your most intense training sessions. It contains cutting-edge active ingredients like L-citrulline, betaine anhydrous, beta-alanine, and caffeine for noticeable energy and powerful pumps.

Not everyone likes taking creatine, an ingredient that enhances strength gains, in their pre-workout drink, so Jacked Factory intentionally left it out of Nitrosurge. Aside from creatine, Nitrosurge Pre-Workout is also free of artificial dyes, fillers, and added sugar. It’s a vegan product, meaning it does not contain any ingredients derived from animals.

You can take one or two scoops of Nitrosurge 25-30 minutes before a training session. It’s suggested to start with just one scoop to assess tolerance.

A 9.10-ounce container of Nitrosurge offers 15 to 30 servings, depending on whether you opt for a single or double scoop. The nutrition label lists the ingredient amounts for both serving sizes, making this a good option for beginners who are new to pre-workouts.

Before You Buy

  • Nitrosurge is a vegan pre-workout.
  • There are 180 milligrams of caffeine per scoop.
  • This pre-workout is available in 14 flavors.

Is Nitrosurge Pre-Workout Worth It?

Experience Using Nitrosurge Pre-Workout

GGR Head of Content Kate Meier and her competitive weightlifting teammates Jacob Penner, USAW-L2, CPT, and Micky tested Nitrosurge Pre-Workout in both the single and double dose to compare the differences. These athletes have tried their fair share of pre-workouts and know the difference between those that bring the hype and those that fall short.

A person holds a scoop of Nitrosurge Pre-Workout

It’s noteworthy to mention that you still get plenty of caffeine with just one scoop. Our tester says, “I like that you still get 180 milligrams of caffeine with this so you get the energy but without all the other effects.”

One tester shared, “I took this in the morning, did just one scoop, which really only gives you a half dosage of the active ingredients you’d find in other pre-workouts, aside from caffeine.” They didn’t feel itchy since the beta-alanine dose was low, and also didn’t experience the amped-up feeling from the strongest pre-workouts.

Our tester who tried two scoops still found the effects mild compared to more potent competitors. He felt an obvious energy boost, but nothing like what you can experience from other, stronger pre-workouts.

Price Per Serving

Each 9.10-ounce tub of Nitrosurge Pre-Workout costs $29.99. At this price, a single scoop serving comes out to only $1, earning cost per serving a rating of 5 out of 5. To pay even less, you can subscribe to save 15% and get free shipping. When you subscribe, the cost of each serving comes down to only $0.89, making this a budget-friendly pre-workout option.

If you choose to double scoop, each serving then comes to $2.00. When you subscribe and save, a double scoop is slightly more affordable at $1.70 per serving.

Formulation

Nitrosurge Pre-Workout consists of seven active ingredients: L-citrulline, beta-alanine, betaine anhydrous, caffeine anhydrous, L-theanine, theobromine, and AstraGin. While this combination boasts a powerhouse of ingredients, some don’t meet the most optimal dosages for exercise, leading us to rate the formulation a 4 out of 5.

RELATED: Best Pre-Workout Ingredients

One scoop includes an effective dose (although on the lower side) of 3 grams of L-citrulline, a non-essential amino acid that may enhance nitric oxide production and promote better blood flow to the muscles. Enhanced blood flow means your muscles receive more oxygen and nutrients, which may improve muscle function and give you a greater pump1.

The 1.6 grams of beta-alanine per scoop falls short of the 4- to 6-gram daily recommended dose by the International Society of Sports Nutrition2. However, 1.6 grams daily has been shown to3 increase muscle carnosine levels. Carnosine buffers lactic acid accumulation in the muscles. This potentially diminishes muscle fatigue and prolongs the time to exhaustion during exercise.

Betaine anhydrous has been shown to improve body composition, muscle growth, and work capacity. Again, the 1.25 grams of betaine anhydrous in just a single scoop of Nitrosurge doesn’t meet the clinically studied dose of 2.5 grams shown to improve exercise performance4, but if you take the double scoop, you’ll get there.

With 180 milligrams of caffeine, you’ll likely feel energized and focused without the crazy caffeine jitters. It’s a solid amount for those who get caffeine from other sources throughout the day. Caffeine may also help curb appetite, making this one of the best pre-workouts for weight loss due to its high caffeine content.

RELATED: Best Stim-Free Pre-Workout

Theobromine and L-theanine enhance mental focus and reduce susceptibility to distractions for a more productive workout. Studies indicate5 that the combination of L-theanine and caffeine could improve the speed and accuracy of performance during attention-switching tasks.

A scoop of Nitrosurge Pre-Workout is dumped into a glass bottle with a stainless steel shaker ball

Finally, AstraGin is a patented ingredient intended to enhance the absorption of the ingredients in Nitrosurge so you can feel its effects.

All flavors are sweetened with sucralose and Ace-K, two artificial sweeteners that contain zero calories but offer extreme sweetness. These sweeteners are considered safe for consumption, but some people find they lead to gastrointestinal discomfort like gas and bloating.

Taste and Solubility

Nitrosurge Pre-Workout passed with flying colors regarding both taste and solubility. Our expert testers tried the Strawberry Margarita flavor (only available on Amazon) and found it to be wildly delicious. One tester shared, “I’d drink this by the side of a pool over ice. Drink it all day.” Needless to say, we rated the taste a perfect 5 out of 5.

As if that wasn’t enticing enough, the powder easily mixed with water and our testers didn’t notice any clumping, floaties, or lingering sediment. For these reasons, we also rated solubility a 5 out of 5.

Side Effects

Nitrosurge Pre-Workout contains beta-alanine, which can cause tingling or itchy skin post-consumption. While some people find this feeling uncomfortable, it’s not harmful and only lasts up to 60 to 90 minutes2.

RELATED: Why Does Pre-Workout Make You Itch?

This product also contains caffeine, a stimulant that increases the activity of the central nervous system. Caffeine is safe for most people who consume it in low to moderate amounts.  According to the FDA6, it’s safe to consume up to 400 milligrams of caffeine daily. However, some individuals are sensitive to caffeine and may experience uncomfortable side effects like jitters, nervousness, and insomnia.

Considering the potential for uncomfortable itching or caffeine sensitivity, we rated side effects a 4 out of 5. Before taking any new supplement, consult a healthcare professional for your safety.

Third-Party Testing

Unfortunately, Jacked Factory Nitrosurge Pre-Workout does not undergo third-party testing. Third-party testing is important in the supplement industry, as these products lack FDA regulation. Third-party testing ensures the accuracy of the product’s label information and checks for potentially harmful levels of heavy metals and contaminants. This is especially important for competitive athletes who undergo drug testing for their sport, as untested supplements may contain banned substances.

Bottom Line

Fuel your body with a delicious pre-workout supplement with nutrients and 14 active ingredients for an energy-boosting workout.

When compared to JYM Pre-Workout, Jacked Factory Nitrosurge dosages fall short. JYM Pre-Workout contains more caffeine, citrulline, and beta-alanine. It also includes 2 grams of creatine, an ingredient not included in Nitrosurge Pre-Workout. What’s more, JYM Pre-Workout contains nootropics, like Alpha-GPC and Huperzine A, which may improve mental focus.

Jacked Factory Nitrosurge has fewer ingredients in smaller amounts, so it’s no surprise that it’s considerably more affordable. Our testers highly rated the taste and solubility of both products. When choosing between the two, it really depends on whether you’re looking for an introductory pre-workout or something that’ll get you more amped up.

Customer Reviews

Customers on the Jacked Factory website give Nitrosurge Pre-Workout a 4.8 out of 5 stars. One customer says, “I take it every day about 30 minutes before the gym. Slight tingles, no jitters, straight focus, no crash, and improved performance! Couldn’t ask for more. Might try something other than Watermelon next time (a bit sweet).”

Another writes, “Can’t beat it for the cost. Harder days you go for the two scoops, lighter days you go for one. Mixes well and tastes great.”

Amazon customers rate the product slightly lower at 4.3 out of 5 stars. One Amazon customer says, “The taste isn’t terrible, maybe a little sour. I’ve noticed it feels powdery in my mouth and it leaves a weird aftertaste.”

While another writes, “I’ve tried three of the Nitro Surge flavors, and they’re all quite good. Not overly sweet, mixes up well, and gives the perfect boost, not so jacked up you’re tingling, (like other well-known ones do) but plenty of added energy.”

Final Verdict of Our Nitrosurge Pre-Workout Review

Jacked Factory Nitrosurge is a suitable option for beginners wanting to dip their toes into using pre-workout without the intense buzz of more potent products. It contains several research-backed ingredients, but we thought it could include slightly more L-citrulline and beta-alanine. Regardless, both customers and our testers commend the product for its appetizing taste and superior mixability. Many users find it effective for increasing energy and achieving head-turning pumps.

  • A couple of ingredients are slightly underdosed or on the lower end of the recommended dose
  • Includes an effective amount of caffeine, so you’ll likely feel energized
  • Most customers love the taste, but some find the artificial sweeteners make the product too sweet
  • Mixes well without floaties or clumps

Nitrosurge is a good pre-workout for beginners, although a couple of ingredients are slightly underdosed or on the lower end of the recommended dosage. You’ll get plenty of energy from the 180 milligrams of caffeine, but may not feel the extreme hype from more potent pre-workouts.

How good is Nitrosurge?

Nitrosurge is good for anyone looking for a boost in energy and focus during their workouts. The supplement contains nitric oxide boosters that may give you a pump and enhance muscle function and endurance.
